Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or the equivalent College Degree/Diploma.
  • 4+ years of mechanical design experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize and design; products, enclosures, fixtures, jigs and gantries using EDA/CAD tools.
  • Conduct design reviews.
  • Light fabrication and assembly.
  • Produce design files and documentation for fabricators.
  • Request, manage and procure inventory and materials as needed.
  • Keep your eye out for opportunities to improve our products.
  • Other duties and responsibilities commensurate with skills and experience.

Skills to succeed:

  • Experience in SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with fabrication and assembly.
  • IT knowledge (PC assembly, bring up and troubleshooting).
  • Project management experience including budgeting, managing timelines, and experience coordinating with vendors and fabricators.
  • Robust knowledge of mechanical design and development.
  • Excellent research and investigative skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.

Bonus Points for a basic understanding of:

  • Optics and camera systems.
  • Robotics (motion, stepper/servo and amplifiers).
  • Automation (PLC’s, instrumentation, sensors and actuators).
