IGNIS Spring 2015 Update

Apr 24 2015

The current OLED marketplace has reached a critical crossroad that has created an unprecedented opportunity for IGNIS and its proprietary technologies. In 2014, to accelerate the adoption of its technology, IGNIS’s Board of Directors had engaged an investment banker to assist in seeking out a strategic partner. The process concluded in October, and the board, having reviewed the current market dynamics for OLED and the tremendous future prospects for its technology, elected instead to continue to operate as an independent technology provider to the Display Industry. As a result of significant developments in the past year, the OLED large panel marketplace has opened up. In the early part of 2015 Samsung’s comments on exiting the OLED TV market for a few years was interpreted as a setback for the industry. However, significant investment by other companies coupled with Samsung’s re-entry into the market is viewed as a turning point for the industry. In addition, interest in OLED displays for other applications such as automotive, tablets, and laptops continues to increase. These applications demand “longer lifetime”, “higher performance” and “high yield over a larger area”. Thus conventional in-pixel compensation is not sufficient for these applications and so a different solution is required. IGNIS is now providing the industry with the needed solution as a result of…

At the epicentre of the AMOLED TV development

Apr 23 2015

IGNIS Innovation Inc. has been fortunate to have worked on the right solution for AMOLED TV and other demanding display applications such as automotive, tablet, laptop, etc. Since the early days, we believed that the solution for these applications had to be different from that of small displays. These applications require significantly longer lifetimes, higher yields over a large area, and better performance which cannot be addressed by conventional in-pixel solutions. The IGNIS MaxLife™ solution addresses all these requirements and is ready! Consequently, IGNIS has been at the epicentre of the AMOLED TV development wave highlighted by the number of joint development projects based on its unique solution. IGNIS is very pleased to announce that it will be actively attending SID this year and will demonstrate our latest developments to a select audience.

IGNIS hackathon event: Planning for present and future

Apr 10 2015

As a small company, we have limited resources but we can leverage that to our advantage. IGNIS has been practicing to increase the fluidity of tasks between the team members. This will enable us to prepare for our predicted growth. However, over the past few months, things changed. IGNIS received significant attention from the display industry and has acquired several larger projects. As part of our new hackathon activities, we put the question in front of our team and asked them to propose various solutions. The question was simple, how to address the significant demands from industry without undermining our partner satisfaction and our own success. The three randomly selected teams at IGNIS worked together and planed strategy in view of these recent developments. They then presented their plans including their ideas on how to improve our lean operating strategy, the problems that need to be addressed in order to amplify the effect of our engineers and the expansion that is needed to support the programs. At the end a group was selected as the winner based on their peer scoring. However, the real winner is IGNIS for having such a talented, motivated, and passionate team. And you will hear way more from them soon!
