IGNIS Innovation Inc. revealed a 55-inch full-HD AMOLED display based on its proprietary compensation technology running at 120 Hz at FPD Yokohama. The compensation works “like magic” across all gray scales making it the most uniform AMOLED display. “We are so confident in our external compensation technology that IGNIS Innovation has taken a bold step in showing flat fields during three days of live demonstrations” says Dr. Reza Chaji, CTO and President. “With our proprietary solution, the display operates at much lower voltage and also enjoys a high yield due to its simple structure and superb compensation capability.“ IGNIS has sold evaluation samples of the 55-inch AMOLED TV to display manufactures and OEMs interested in adopting what we believe is the only practical approach to compensating AMOLED displays. The technology can be used to manufacture any panel size or resolution; for example 2k x 4k and 240Hz frame rate. Complementing the external compensation system is the newly introduced AMOLED display inspection tool. Display manufactures utilizing this tool can quickly extract defect data and operation conditions of the fabrication line from the AMOLED display. The data is then used to repair the defect on the display, monitor the performance of different fabrication stages, and as feedback to tune the fabrication processes (e.g. etching, exposure, deposition or…
